Event Beauty Countdown
The week-by-week list we wish someone had handed over before a Melbourne wedding, formal or photo day. It covers makeup, hair and spray tan. It is general, not a personal plan, and it does not name prices.
Six weeks out
- Book the makeup artist, the hair stylist and the spray tanner if you want all three. Trials need a date of their own.
- Decide who is travelling to you and who needs a studio visit. Write the suburb and the start time down.
- If you are adding a new skincare active, this is the last comfortable moment. Do not start a retinoid in the final fortnight.
Two weeks out
- Have the hair trial, and ask where the style is likely to drop. Pack the pin they recommend, not a new one bought on the day.
- Wear the neckline of the outfit to the makeup trial if you can. The face and the dress should agree.
- Book the spray tan for at least the day before, never the morning of a pale outfit.
One week out
- Stop trying new face products, new fragrance on the skin, and any scratchy exfoliant.
- Confirm call times, addresses and whether anyone needs after-hours access.
- Wash the hair on the schedule your stylist asked for. A same-morning wash is often the wrong brief.
Two days out
- Exfoliate before a spray tan only if the tanner told you to, and moisturise the dry bits: elbows, knees, wrists, ankles.
- Lay out a button-front top so the makeup does not meet a tight neckline.
- Charge the phone, and save the artists’ confirmation emails where you can find them offline.
The morning
- Arrive with a clean, moisturised face and no new foundation of your own on top.
- Eat something. A long glam day on an empty stomach is a bad idea.
- Bring the lip colour you already trust if you want to retouch it yourself later.
- Pack a wrap. Melbourne will change its mind about the temperature.
In the bag
- The lip colour, a mini blush, blotting papers, and a powder you have used before.
- Pins, fashion tape, and a spare hair tie.
- Nothing you are testing for the first time.
If a product is worth buying, the retailer sets the price. Curated Glam does not invent one here. Artist listings on this site are still examples until the Placeholder badges are gone, so do not book anyone from the directory while that note is up.
